Research grant for Decommissioning Science (Mission H)
About the Research grant for Decommissioning Science
This project promotes the “Strategic nuclear energy joint research program”, “Decommissioning speed-up research program”, and “Decommissioning measures research and “human resource development program”, and we aim to promote basic and foundational research that contributes to resolving issues using nuclear energy HR nurturing initiatives in collaboration with the industry and academia. Regardless of domestic or international nuclear energy fields being implemented, we aim to apply knowledge and tests from a variety of areas, going beyond the conventional institutions and fields, and furthermore, contribute to resolution of issues in the nuclear energy field, including the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, through close merging and linking with international collaborations.
From 2018, we saw the migration of the operation division, as a new topic, from a business entrusted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, to a subsidized business covering the Japan Atomic Energy Agency, and we are reviewing Common Basic-type Nuclear Energy Research Program, Problem-Solving-type Decommissioning Research Program, and International-Collaboration-type Decommissioning Research Program.
