The First 2022 Fukushima Research Confertence

Fukushima Research Conference (FRC) on “International Topical Workshop on Fukushima Decommissioning Research (FDR2022)”

International Topical Workshop on Fukushima Decommissioning Research 2022 (FDR2022) organized by the Atomic Energy Society of Japan and the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers was held at J-Village in Fukushima Prefecture on Oct. 14-16, 2022.

On October 14, technical tour of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Station and JAEA Naraha Center for Remote Control Technology Development was held.
On October 15 and 16, a broad global exchange of information on technologies, operations, management and safety for the Research and Development activities on decommissioning and dismantling of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station took place, and current and future efforts regarding decommissioning were discussed.

JAEA/CLADS co-hosted the 1st Fukushima Research Conference (FRC) for FY2022 on the afternoon of October 15. Plenary lectures were given on the topic of “Decommissioning of the Fukushima-Daiichi NPP -Progress and Issues-”, “Reconstruction and Decommissioning in Fukushima”, “JAEA R&D Efforts for Decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi NPS”.

The workshop was successfully held with a total of approx. 150 participants from France, UK, USA, Korea, etc. mainly domestic and international researchers involved in the decommissioning of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

International Topical Workshop on Fukushima Decommissioning Research 2022(FDR2022) will be held in Fukushima Prefecture on Oct. 14-16, 2022.
The topical workshop promotes a broad global exchange of information on technologies, operations, management and safety for the Research and Development activities on decommissioning and dismantling of the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Station. Join the workshop with worldwide experts to present your work on current and future activities on Fukushima decommissioning, showing the steady recovery of Fukushima. Prior to the workshop, technical tour to the Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear Power Station site will be held on October 14, 2022.
A portion of this meeting will be open to the public free of charge as FRC.
